10 days of spotting instead of period. neg hpt. no bc pills.spouse had vasectomy. no other symptoms. gyno earliest appt in 2 months. usually regular period with normal flow for 5-7 days. spotting w/ drops of blood in toilet & wiping. browish & pink. ?

Prolonged spotting ?: At age 42, ovulation is frequently delayed, as the eggs require more stimulation as they age, producing estrogen fluctuations which will produce spotting (withdrawal bleeding) during low points in the levels of estrogen. Your cycles should again resume on a predictable basis, but see your gyn physician for an exam and other testing if this continues.
