A member asked:

Is pregnancy unlikely if a urine pregnancy test taken at the doctors in the afternoon is negative nine weeks after sex ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy unlikely: Today's urine pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened), 1 week after missing a period, or 1 week after starting a "weird" period.
