Break through bleed: is common side effect of hormone contraception. In some cases the lining of the uterus gets thinned down too much, causing bleeding. Your doctor might advise you stop the pills , four days to allow the lining to thicken somewhat. Back up contraception, condoms for example till the next cycle/pill pack. Ask your doctor if this would work work for you?

BCP spotting: With low dose oral bcp's (like Yaz) it is important to maintain a punctual schedule: take the "acitve' pills within one hour of taking the previous day's active pill. The dose is so low that greater than 24-25 hours will sometimes cause breakdown in the lining cells of the womb, which causes spotting. You can stop all pills now, then resume in 5 days and maintain punctuality.
