No worries: When your period doesn’t come back after stopping the birth control pill, it’s called “post-pill amenorrhea.” This phrase is misleading because it implies that birth control is responsible. There is a variety of reasons why your cycle might be abnormal after coming off the pill, and most of them have nothing to do with the pill itself. For instance, your low BMI. See your doc.

Obgyn evaluation: If you have not taken the pill for more than about one week then the past use of the pill is not affecting current menstrual cycles. If you have not had a period in this long then you will need to see an Obgyn for hormonal testing to determine why you are not having periods.
