Your doctor would: not have prescribed the medication for you if he/she had not considered the risk/benefit of doing so. If you ever read the "scary side effects" of Tylenol or Aspirin you would never take them. Don't worry! Your doctor has you covered and has your best interests at heart!

Birth control pills are like any other medical treatment. One evaluates the risk, benefits and alternatives and determines if it is worth it. Is treatment of you PCOS worth it? Talk to your doctor.
