I went to planned parenthood for an hiv exam and they made me pee in a cup. i wasn't being checked for any other sti's - was this a pregnancy test?

Hard to say: The routine testing done at such a facility may/may not include a regular uranalysis to verify general health or include a pregnancy test. Given where you went I suspect it was a pregnancy test but could not say for sure. You can always ask when you get your results. It is also a material they can test for other STD's.
