Birth control: If you stopped the active pills then it make sense that you had spotting as one expects to have a period when you stop the active pills. Eating pineapple will not affect anything. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available at any pharmacy. If you were taking pills correctly during the month then I would not expect pregnancy

No: Skipping the pill-free (sugar pill) week will not reduce pill effectiveness, you still have contraception.
