A 35-year-old female asked:

can herpes only be spreaded if you have an outbreak? i never had symptoms and now since diagnosed i have been getting more blisters in genitals.

Herpes: Herpes can be spread at any time, not only when you have an outbreak, although it is much more likely to be spread when you have an outbreak. HSV (herpes simplex virus) can live in the skin of the genital area and can be passed to another person, even if there is not an outbreak. It is a good idea to use a condom every time you have sex, and to discuss this with your sexual partners.

What can cause genital herpes without having any type of sexual contact?

Any Direct Contact: Genital herpes is essentially spread by direct contact with an infectious area. It is very common and easy spread. Genital herpes can be spread even if you or your partner don't see any sores - orally or genitally. Valtrex (valacyclovir) has been shown to reduce, not eliminate the risk for asymptomatic transmission. Condoms can help but contact outside of the condom covered areas can result in infection.

More info: "chicken bumps" are more commonly seen on the arms and legs and do well with cod liver oil (orally). On the face...Depends on the age. If a newborn is one thing. Older children i would want to see the rash before offering suggestions. In general there is a great cream..Called schmoove. Can be ordered from maker. Get checked: This could represent a vaginal infection. You need to get checked out and get it treated as necessary.
