Genital ulcer: The single most common cause of genital ulcers ("open sores") is genital herpes. But there are many other possibilities, and syphilis may be possible, although syphilis is far less common than herpes. Many non STD problems also are possible. Get seen professionally ASAP: do not try to treat in any way before a proper diagnosis is made. It probably would just screw up proper diagnosis.
