STD untreated effect: Syphilis can cause blindness and brain tumors in its' tertiary stage. It is a very rare occurrence as most positive VDRL tests are treated today. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia can cause sterility especially for females via Fallopian tube occlusion (blockage) and abscess. A word to the sexually wise, get STD tested before engaging a 2nd or 3rd partner if you are not in a mutually monogamous relationship.
