Genital HSV1: Nobody wants genital herpes, but if it happens HSV1 is the preferred type, partly for the reason you are concerned about. Unlike genital HSV2, HSV1 has few recurrent outbreaks and little asymptomatic viral shedding. Therefore, sexual transmission to partners is uncommon. It could happen, but is unlikely. The chance is even lower if taking an anti-herpes drug like valacyclovir.
