Syphilis: Azithromycin does not treat syphilis. It is for chlamydial infections. May be best to follow up with doctor to check for other STDs.

Must be STD tested!: Any sexual contact will place you at high risk for STD transmission. And if the patient has active lesions (may be difficult to see during sexual encounters), the risk is VERY high. Please follow-up with a physician to obtain STD testing and/or treatment and counseling for safe-sex practices. NOTE: Azithromycin is NOT the appropriate treatment for Syphilis. See your doctor!
