Get tested: There are no specific symptoms of sero-conversion. Since some people take a long time to make antibodies, even if you get other tests now, get a HIV nucleic acid test about 6 months after exposure, If that test result is negative you would be free of HIV.

Probably not HIV: Acute retroviral syndrome (ARS) doesn't normally cause nasal congestion or drip. Sounds like you had a cold, and it also sounds like your partner is at low risk for having HIV. But of course you should be tested to be sure. You can expect a negative result. Also get tested for other common STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis), which are far more likely than HIV in this situation.
