Erythema multiforme?: Herpes outbreaks sometimes trigger a rash called erythema multiforme. The rash in EM often produces circular "target" lesions -- maybe that's why ringworm came to mind (?). If accompanied by genital or anal area sores, it's a more severe form of EM called Stevens Johnon syndrome. These are potentially very serious; see a doctor immediately.
