A member asked:

Mucus draining from eye for 6 days. doesn't hurt and not red. have a long history of herpes simplex in this eye so can't tell if my vision has changed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Either can I: It sounds like an eye infection.Clean away mucus with a solution of 50% warm water with a 50% diluted baby soap or baby shampoo. You may need prescription eye drops or oral antibiotics- please get examined today. If there is no blistering rash ,I doubt that this is herpes simplex.
