A member asked:

Stool leakage and anal pain after defecation, severe constipation.dr said everything is normal ,could it be internal piles or rectal prolapse?wat to do

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stool leakage and: anal pain are NOT normal. Internal piles (hemorrhoids) can result from straining due to severe constipation but aren't visible on routine exam. Rectal prolapse could cause your symptoms but should be obvious on physical exam. The constipation itself can cause rectal pain and stool leakage. The source of the constipation & treatment for it needs to be addressed. Best wishes. Dr. Anne.
