Metal: Traces of iron in hemoglobin present in blood, which is present in small amounts on an inflamed mucosal surface of nose and sinus, can create a "metal" smell. This can represent an infection. Do a home urine dipstick test on your urine.

UTI: I am pretty sure you have a UTI as well. Urine smell is not a good predictor of infection as it is affected by too many other things.
