Proctalgia Fugax?: Intermittent transient anal pain may be due to Proctalgia Fugax. PF is due to spasm of the anal sphincter. The episodes last from seconds to minutes. The cause is unknown. Genetic and psychiatric factors may play a role. Other causes need to be excluded by exam. Treatment consists of topical and oral medication, biofeedback, botox and treatment of emotional issues, if any. SEE: //bit.ly/1VI0NUc
