Hormonal imbalance: ipill alters the normal hormonal balance and may delay the period. If you do not wish to be pregnant you should be on contraceptive all the time and not rely on after the sex pill. You may consider an IUD or implanted contraceptive. If you do not get a period for three weeks after sex, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
