Several things...: The most common cause of such symptoms is yeast infection, which most women have from time to time. Herpes is the main STD that could do this, especially if there are visible sores. It could be allergy or chemical irritation, e.g. to latex (condoms), soap, perfumes, etc. Don't take chances: see a doctor soon, the sooner the better especially for accurate herpes diagnosis and effective treatment.
