See doctor: Was the diagnosis of inluenza confirmed or just suspected? And what herpes testing was done? Herpes is far and away the most common cause of new genital ulcers, especially with flu-like symptoms (fever, headache, muscle aching, etc). I'm still suspicious you had herpes and would recommend an HSV blood test, plus a follow-up blood test in a few weeks to see if it becomes positive.
