Not recommended: Single dose treatment with cefixime (400 mg) was long recommended for gonorrhea, but in recent years some cases have developed resistance to it. Usually it would work, but it's not reliable. Ceftriaxone 250 mg (by injection) is now best, always followed by either azithromycin or doxycycline. If you were treated with cefixime, get tested to make sure you were cured.
