A member asked:

Its been almost three months on my period due to depo shot if i switch the shot to the pills when my next shot is due will i still be bleeding so much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tough to say, but: probably not. You may consider that after 6 - 12 months of the depo shot many women have considerably reduced periods, some stop altogether. But, the early irregularity can be bad enough to where many women can't make it this far. A combination pill with a normal dose of estrogen is unlikely to give you mid-cycle bleeding and will likely keep you regular after a short initial adjustment period.
