A member asked:

12 days ago i switched from mirena to depo.i used depo before& it always takes away my period i switched over on the same day and got my period since i removed mirena but the shot hasnt completely taken away the bleeding.is it still working properly?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Birth control : It is generally suggested to get depo 7 days before taking out mirena. Depo is quite effective 7 days after administration although peak effect may take several weeks. Follow up with doctor if the bleeding persists.
