Dead: Sperm are mostly dead after a few days, and all dead after 7 days, doubly dead after 7 days of menstrual bleeding. If married, settled down, and planning for a baby, just start having daily sex now. If not... then don't have any sex until a good reliable form of birth control is working (such as an IUD, or birth control pills, etc.).
