Should you abstain from sex if you have a uti? i was told i have a bad infection & i'm on bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for 7 days. i'm on day 3 today.

No: UTI is infection in urinary tract. And sexual intercourse involves reproductive tract. Although in close proximity to each other, they are not connected. So no abstinence from sex is required in management of UTI
