Yes, low: sperm count makes pregnancy less likely, not impossible. But it depends on the actual count. If you do not desire pregnancy, you should still use contraceptive.

A 21-year-old female asked:

Would i get pregnant on the first time if my boyfriend has low sperm count ?

Possible: There are many variables but yes it is possible. If trying to avoid pregnancy it is best to use prevention such as condoms, etc. A pregnancy test is always a good start especially if you refrain from sexual activity and repeat the test a couple times over a week or two

A 32-year-old female asked:

My husband has a low sperm count what are our chances of getting pregnant? We are both 32.

Excellent: First i would recommend repeating the semen analysis to confirm. It would best to have a full fertility evaluation. Based on the exact numbers a specialist would determine whether insemination, ivf, or evaluation by a urologist is most appropriate.L but in the end you should still be able to become pregnant.

A 23-year-old female asked:

Can I still get pregnant doing an IUI with low sperm count of o.5 ?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Gerard Honore
Fertility Medicine 29 years experience
Do you mean: 0.5 million? If so the chances with IUI are quite poor I'm sorry to say. That isn't to say impossible, but highly unlikely. Pregnancy rates with IUI are generally no better than 2-3% if sperm are below around 2 million. Talk seriously with your doctor, or A doctor, about ways to be successful. Good luck.
