Yes, this can be NL.: Dear Ms. Weaver, This can be a normal finding in young ladies engaging in sexual intercourse for the first time. Typically, the hymen (opening into the vagina) is ruptured/torn during penetration, thus causing some discomfort and bleeding due to the tiny blood vessels in the delicate tissues. However, if it continues to persists for > 5 days or so, you may want to seek gynecological evaluation.
