Depends but: If there is an infection, the hydrocortisone may just mask the inflammatory response( pain etc) and does not do anything for the infection (which may theoretically worsen with cortisone).

Hello Doctor as I told I have balanitis and you told me to use Cortisone cream and Im using it for a week but I still have redness, dark, swollen skin in the penis how long to use the cream and how many times a day to remove the dark skin completely?
Sore red rash on glans penis & forskin. Rash comes & goes but always uncomfortable. Tested for STDs & treated for balanitis. Had 2 UTI in 7 months.
Foreskin a bit red, it comes and goes sometimes not red then next hour it is. Antifungal,steroid cream not effective. Doc said no balanitis, what's it?
To cure a circular red rash on inner thighs around testicles should I use Nystatin Powder or a hydrocortisone cream? or both? itchy and burning
