Probably: If you were using the contraceptive pills to regulate your periods because they were previously absent or irregular, then once the pill is stopped then that pattern will resume unless the source of the irregularity is identified and resolved.

Shortened cycles: A shortened duration of menstrual cycles down to 17 days bears investigation by a GYN MD post oral contraception as ovulation may not be occurring.

Alcohol can make it: worse. Oral contraceptives are sometimes used to decrease symptoms. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol & salt.
