Not really...: If you have taken the inactive pills already then you are likely going to start your period very soon.

Is progestin for 10 days a month or the mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD better for heavy menstrual bleeding?

Mirena (levonorgestrel): While there aren't any good head to head studies comparing each method, my patients have much better results with Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud. The Progesterone in it is slowly released the whole month and is more targeted to the uterus than taking 10 days of progestin pills. Also, there is a new amazing medicine called Lysteda (tranexamic acid) that is not a hormone and is very effective. Ask your doc about it!

Don't "feed" the FM: Even tho' it will take longer, try eating a diet with foods as close to their natural state as possible - that means nothing with labels, no refined sugar, wheat, etc. Try strictly eliminating all dairy, gluten, soy for at least a month, or a real "elimination diet" that can be found online. Try some d-ribose (5 grams 3x/day), vit d 2000 ius/ day) and get to a hands-on osteopath and a good pt.

Theoretical: This is talked about much more than it really happens. But to be on the safe side you can use condoms as a back up while you are on the antibiotics.

Maybe: A blood pregnancy test would be a good idea, ? Bladder infection. Maybe your period is about to start.
