Risk goes up: for every day past due, the risk of ovulation and possible pregnancy goes up. If you are seeking to prevent unplanned pregnancy, try to remain on time with the injections. Use of condoms/other forms of BC if late is recommended.

Still protected: The shot does not automatically stop after 90 days. It is unlikely that a woman would conceive in the fourth month after a depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) injection. There would be no significant increase in the chance of conceiving by being only two days late for the next shot.
