A member asked:

Irregular periods. 33 days in my cycle now and no period. had sex while ovulating last month. neg preg test. is there a way to know when to test again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

3 weeks after sex: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. With irregular periods, it can be hard to guess when to retest... maybe repeat it 1 week after.
