Side Effect: Joe it is a bit unusual for a 21yo to be on Flomax (tamsulosin). It is an alpha blocker that relaxes smooth muscle in the bladder slowing better urine flow . It is usually used to treat BPH in men over 60. The decrease semen production is a side effect and usually returns to normal 2-4wks after stopping. If you continue to have urinary issues, please see a good urologist and have a cystoscopy performed .

Not normal: Your urologist is best qualified to answer your question. It appears that you are having retrograde ejaculations and congestion and/or inflammation after somewhat frequent sexual activity. You are unusually young to require flomax (tamsulosin) in order to promote good urinary stream and proper bladder emptying. I wonder about chronic prostatitis or congestion.Discuss this with your urologist.
