Varicose vein: Continued trauma to an area can cause blood vessels to become prominent. Especially if muscle atrophy has occurred. This can become a problem over time and i would recommend seeing a specialist to see if they need to be ligated. Your pcp, plastics and some podiatrists are familiar with this simple procedure.
