A 26-year-old male asked:

what is the recovery time of a minor penile biopsy in circumstances where a rash has not been receptive to creams?

Skin biopsy: A skin biopsy site usually heals within 7-10 days. If considering intercourse, may want to wait until healed fairly well otherwise it will keep separating and bleeding.

Can transitioning formulas lead to diaper rash?

3 doctor answers3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Marc Grella
Pediatrics 28 years experience
Yes: All foods, including formulas, are digested differently. Making a change between formulas will cause the intestines to digest different nutrients. This may cause temporary constipation, diarrhea, or both (or neither) until your digestive system adapts. Many people find that with changing formula their child gets looser stool and a diaper rash in the short term; should resolve in a week or two.

Jock itch: Sounds more like a tinea infection. U should keep the area clean and dry. Don't rub or scratch as it makes the rash worse. Heat n sweat r not good. Otc anti fungal powder/ cream can be tried.

Affects skin, joints: Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (nsf) is a serious condition where fibrosis of skin leads to scar-like nodules & plaques. Joints can be affected, leading to contractures & pain. Serious cases can lead to fibrosis of organs. The cause is unknown, but is related to kidney failure & exposure to gadolinium, used in mri.
