Yes: You need to be concerned about stomach irritation by the alcohol which can cause bleeding. The irritation can be severe enough to lead to an ulcer(s). It may be a coincidence since only a lot of bleeding and a fast transit time through the colon can lead to bright red blood from the stomach to the stool.
