A member asked:

Is it possible to remember being sexually abuse as a baby?

Unlikely: During normal development the human brain does not generally begin to consolidate episodic memories (i.e., long-term storage of memories for events) until around age 4. Although, it is very unlikely that a baby will remember the abuse, it may still negatively affect normal psychosocial development, especially if the abuse was ongoing and repetitive.

I believe "No": There's a non-evidence-based claim that various mental health issues are due to forgotten sexual abuse during very early life, before memories can be laid down, and that fantasies induced during sessions are actual memories. This has actually led to families being destroyed and good people maligned for no valid reason. You need to steer very clear of these people.

Abuse: The best way to deal with your concern is to see a Clinical Psychologist and be evaluated. Then you can get the help you need.
