Congrats on: Coming to terms in dealing with abuse of this magnitude is couragous in it's self you are saying you will not let that person keep control over your life, the way to move forward is to seek help from a trusted therapist skilled in this area and most importantly one you can relate to.

Move on: You are a human being and therefore amazingly resilient. Old models of mental health suggested that bad experiences cause irreversible harm, and that one should dwell on the past and even focus on revenge. This just made people sicker. You can learn new skills, find real love, figure out who will NOT abuse you, and resolve to hate no one. Today's scientific therapy can help greatly.
