Does having a past occurence of one type of hpv provide *any* level of immunity for other types of hpv?

Probably not: We now know you can have hpv reactivated after many years. Even the two available hpv vaccines only protect against certain serotypes of hpv. Studies do however show that condom use reduces viral load, which allows your immune system a chance to battle back against hpv. We have seen a similar issue with HIV and herpes and use of condoms.

HPV: There is some cross immunity but not much. Your two best options are the quadrivalent vaccine and limiting your sexual partners.
