Current dvt on warfarin, bv, lgil, pcos managed by metformin and diet/exercise. stopped yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) after dvt, pelvic pain. any relationship between all these?

Insulin resistance.: The Insulin resistance syndrome (ir) is the underlying cause of pcos. This is due to down-regulation of sex hormone binding globulin. Ir also causes up-regulation of several clotting factors, like fibrinogen and pai-1, the inhibitor of tpa (alteplase). Stay on the metformin, get regular exercise and follow a low glycemic index diet.

OC and DVT: Obviously, oral contraceptives are a known precipitant of dvt. There are no other apparent relationships.
