When they test for utis do they test for stds?

No: You need additional testing done for sexually transmitted diseases. They can run some tests on the urine for chlaymdia and gonorrhea, but will need more samples to check for everything else. Don't wait to get tested if you think you have something!

Yes and No: Normal UTI tests are urinalysis dipstick and microscopy which can be positive for leucocytes (whit blood cells) blood cells and nitrites (most bacteria causing utis test nitrite positive) bacteria & cells can also be seen on microscopy. Gonorrhea chlamydia utis will be leucocyte esterase positive, but nitrite -ve. Both as well as yeast can be seen on microscopy. Ua no good for syphilis or hpv..
