You : You may be dealing with a hemorrhoid (internal or external). Try one of the many over the counter hemorrhoid creams (maybe start with one that contains hydrocortisone). If this does not work see your doctor. You could be dealing with pinworms, etc.. Best of luck.

THe most: Common cause of anal itching especially if it wakes you from your sleep is caffeine followed by excess perspiration. Do not use witch hazel or baby wipes with lanolin! cut out all caffeine and use corn starch powder on your bottom when getting dressed and whenever you feel dampness or itching in that area. Avoid petroleum based creams of any kind.
