Depends : On the std. Some are easily curable with antibiotics, others are controllable with antiviral meds and others are not easily and totally treatable and will eventually cause your demise. See you doctor for more info and testing.

Not a good idea.: You need to be seen and have the appropriate tests done, and the appropriate treatment performed. Your partner will also need to know what infection you have.
