See one of the Dr.'s: Generally, the rule is that if STD is suspected, the patient gets lab tests done to look for the more common STD's. If confirmed to have an STD, the patient's partner gets tested also, with or without symptoms. If one person got treated and the other did not, the couple should bring all test results to whichever of the two doctors they like the most, and discuss in-person what this all means.
