NO!: Most women ovulate the first month after stopping the pills. They do not have any long term effects on ovulation. However, some women take birth control pills for reasons other than contraception. Women who did not ovulate before taking pills may not ovulate now. It is possible to develop a problem with ovulation while taking the pills and only by stopping the pills is that problem detected.
