What does it mean to have one thread in mirena (levonorgestrel)?

Not usually a worry: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud does have 2 strings but many people cannot feel them when they are both there. When 1 is felt, the other one has probably folded up into the uterus and can be easily be brought down when it needs to be removed. The doctor can do that maneuver in the office when it needs to be taken out.

Not an issue: If you can palpate one string or both then the iud is ok. Sometimes the strings are cut slightly different with different lengths. Sometimes one string gets pulled into the cervix. Either way the iud will still work correctly.
