I had a baby and december and have recently stopped nursing and started birth control again. how long should i wait before intercourse?

A week: Birth control pills can take as long as a week to reach full efficacy, though if you have been nursing, you have probably not been ovulating either. It would be fine to start now, but in an abundance of caution, waiting a week or using alternate contraception would be reasonable.
