What is the difference between the high-risk and low-risk hpv?

Risk for cervical CA: High risk hpv, like types 16 and 18, are more likely to lead to development of cervical cancer. Low risk hpv, are much less likely to result in cervical cancer.

Associations: There are about a dozen strains of HPV associated with cervical, anal and oral cancer based on current research. That is from the more than 100 strains known to exist.Given that the other strains are more or less simple hitch hikers on their human host, they are low risk.
