A 24-year-old male asked:

im 25 and have a healthy life style, but i have erection problems, can i use sildenafil or cialis?

At 25 I would: explore other possibilities beyond medication. Start w/your family doc. He/she may do hormone testing. If hormone levels are ok you can see a clinical psychologist who works w/ED. Peace and good health.

Yes: Sildenafil - the active ingredient in viagra (sildenafil) - is fda approved as Revatio for treatment of pulmonary HTN in adults. It is likely that it would also be effective in children and is widely used in children as other other adult approved medicines for pulmonary htn.

Usually: What kind of prothesis? Malleable or inflatable? Assuming you don't have any other contraindications to a pde inhibitor (cialis, viagra, Levitra (vardenafil) or certain medical conditions) you could take them but usually the prosthetic is put in because of failure to have an effect with medication.

Most of the tissue in the penis that will respond to Viagra is destroyed or damaged by inserting a penile prosthesis. Adding Viagra will only cost you money and add side effects.

Medical evaluation: See a healthcare provider for a brief medical exam. Medications like cialis, viagra (sildenafil) are very effective for mild ed. I initially treat premature ejaculation with a prescription numbing gel applied an hour before sex and washed off a few minutes prior. There are no systemic side effects and it's a very effective treatment.
